A Las Vegas area contractor is under investigation for scaming homeowners by taking huge down payments and running off. It is Nevada law, down payments can only be $1000 or 10 percent of the total project cost; whichever is less. Let us know if any contractor asks for a larger down payment. See what happened to these homeowners in this FOX5 Vegas - KVVU news report.

The level of pain inflicted on trusting homeowners by unscrupulous solar companies is unbelievable. However, our newly created Solar Investigations Unit is going after these solar contractors. WARNING: Never, never, never sign any contract under pressure. Get three bids. Be skeptical of anyone knocking on your door selling solar systems. Electricity is never free. Rebates rarely go to homeowners. Loans for solar systems often last between 25 and 30 years. Here's a story on our new Solar Investigations Unit.

Congratulations to Nevada State Contractors Board Member Margaret Cavin for receiving the 2024 Distinguished Nevadan Award. It is the most prestigious award conferred by the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents. Cavin is being recognized for her contributions to the construction industry and to the community. “As a native Nevadan, I am very humbled to receive this award. The fact that my dad received this award in 2000 makes it that much more special,” she said. https://lnkd.in/gsp52JRX

You're ready to buy that home you want---BUT, it has a solar system. BEWARE! Never sign a contract with a solar company unless you clearly understand what you're signing. Some reputable solar experts are out with this warning. We receive more consumer complaints about solar companies than any other issue. Beware!!!

Solar companies are targeting vulnerable populations like senior citizens or homeowners with language barriers. An 88-year old couple is now saddled with a $25,000 loan for a solar system they never wanted. Our Solar Investigations Unit will whatever resources are necessary to prevent homeowners from being harmed.
